A precision crafted, perfectly engineered and assembled tunnel designed to trap, compress and lift the boat with 2 adults and 4 children using as little as a 9.9 hp outboard. At high speeds this boat will not even recognize the tall chop, it rides above it skipping off the tips of either a ROUGH LAKE OR OCEAN chop or swell. Dux has taken the rough ride out of the inflatable boat by adding smaller pontoons, called "hijackers," to the bottom of the main Sponsons or pontoons at such a degree that it creates a tunnel that truly creates compression, lift and total control at all times. It will run like it is on rails. This is true of all DUX, “PD” models, but the 13 ft version, also known as the HammerHead, is considered the Porsche of inflatable's, yet made for all water types and conditions. The bottom is covered flexible armor that will allow you to drive your Dux right up onto shore. The Bottom is protected from front to back and can withstand the sharper rocks, sea shells, or other unfriendly obstacles generally found while beaching your boat, or the unknowns of a terrible hurricane as proven after KATRINA. The outsides of each hull are protected by a true rub rail with a lip that not only helps protect against the barnacles on sea walls and pilings, but they offer additional lift and a completely dry ride at all speeds. All DUX inflatable boats have a separate bladder inside each of the main Sponsons. If you damage or breach the main hull, the bladder inside is designed to allow you to continue to run under power back to a safety.

The Dux PD-400, aka the "Hammerhead, is still after 15 years, the boat to beat. With unmatched stability that will no doubt amaze you! The Hammerhead can be used in multiple applications: hunting, fishing, tubing, skiing, diving, and a chase boat for Kiteboarding. In fact, it has become close to the #1 choice for a large percentage of the Kiteboarding and rescue world. It has also set the JETSKI back down in its seat! It can be pushed with as little as a 3 hp electric outboard, and can handle up to a 70 Hp Remote. Roll it up and carry it in a number of ways or trailer it year round.
